Our appraisals are based on current market prices and/or trends. Cash offers for prints may be less than the appraisal offered. Consignments are available for an agreed-upon percentage before all final sales and or auction listings are made. Appointments by live video conference call are available for discerning clients. We offer private previews of our collection, consulting, and appraisals for the purpose of direct sales to the gallery, consignment, auctions, and insurance purposes. If your appointment is for a curated preview, be sure to include your tastes such as favored artists, designs, conditions, and periods (Edo, Meiji, Contemporary, Modern), and estimated budget (not mandatory). We will offer to consult and advise collectors and act on your behalf for clients who wish to make purchases from auctions and/or other private dealers. As an agent working on your behalf, we will examine desired works for authenticity and condition, bid at auction, and arrange shipping, transportation, and/or temporary custody of property, fee's are based on a commission of the final sale price(hammer). Consultations regarding Japanese prints belonging to estates, collections, and inheritances requiring an estimation of dollar value for: insurance, estate and inheritance taxes, estate planning, charitable gifts and donations, & other legal/financial matters Accurate appraisals typically require works to be examined in person. Travel and expenses plus an hourly fee will be billed to the client.
